To start off the meeting, the girls always stand in a circle and recite the Girl Scout Promise and then do the special friendship hand squeeze... since we were celebrating Halloween, we stood in our circle and tossed white yarn back and forth to each other while learning something new about everyone! When we were finished, all the yarn criss-crossed through the circle resembled a spider web! How cool is that??!!
What is a party without a snack?! We got to make healthy snacking "Spiders" of our very own and eat them! We took two crackers spread with lots of peanut butter to make a sandwich, then used pretzel sticks for legs and raisins for eyes. You can't get spiders any yummier than that!!
To round out the party, we played Halloween Bingo! Instead of yelling "Bingo!", we
had to yell "BOO!"... we used candy corn as game pieces for this! We seem to keep coming up short of game pieces and having to hand out more... come to find out, the girls were eating their game pieces!! Can you blame them?!!! We played this game until everyone had a chance to win a prize! By this time, parents were showing up and our meeting was coming to an end...
We are looking forward to the next meeting on November 13th... we will be making a recipe book, so be sure to bring a recipe to share!! Can't wait to see all the yummy recipes the girls can come up with!!! Hope all the girls have FUN on trick or treat night!! See you next time!!
